THE FRANCESCA SELVA'S DANCE COMPANY
The dance company was founded by Francesca Selva in 1995, along with the Centro Danza in Siena. The company, recognised by the Tuscan Regional Dance Centre, received funding from the Ministry for Arts and Cultural Heritage and from the Regional Government of Tuscany for young dance companies. The company became Artists in Residence at the Teatro dei Rinnovati and Teatro dei Rozzi in the City of Siena, which has recognised its professional and artistic merits. It is among the founding companies of the Contemporary Art-Dance Association (ADAC) in Tuscany. It has collaborated with numerous contemporary artists and composers of international renown.The company took part in international festivals and dance seasons promoted in Italy and in Europe. The choreographic style of the dances is certainly neo-classical, with an absolutely modern interpretation of classical technique. A poetry, through its suggestiveness and emotions, that opens up a free interpretation to the spectator. The themes are proposed, almost hinted at, through constant attention to the music and movement.
